Fashion Trend: Millennial Purple
First there was millennial pink…now there’s millennial purple!
Just as soft as its pink predecessor, millennial purple is a light lilac and it took the fall 2019 fashion runways by storm.

Wear it as an accent or put together an entire orchid-toned ensemble - it’s up to you. This shade is showing up in shirts, blouses, sweatshirts, sweaters, skirts, shoes, jewelry, and accessories.
It all started when Pantone announced Ultraviolet as the color of the year for 2018. It was a very intense shade which has muted into a light, feminine, and very wearable color for 2019.
This trend isn’t just for the fashion runway, either. Kacie Goff from Fresh Home calls it Melodramatic Purple (I love that name), and shows how the color is popping up in kitchen cabinetry, drapes, and both indoor and outdoor furniture.
Don’t think this shade is a trend? Even Starbucks is in on the purple game with its refreshing Very Berry Hibiscus drink.
You’ll also be able to spot it in Opi nail polish, Bobbi Brown eyeshadow, Kipling pen cases, Birkenstock shoes, Hydro Flask water bottles, and Ray Ban sunglasses.
I’ve rounded up my favorite pretty purple pieces - wear them a little…or a lot this season.
