How to Clean Your Closet in 15 Minutes

Most of us hate to clean but once we do - we feel so much happier and more relaxed!

One area that can get out of control FAST is the closet. You have to open it every morning and figure out what to wear in a very limited time.

There have been days where I’ve left my closet a complete disaster! Clothes thrown everywhere because I tried on a ton of outfits and nothing seemed to work.

Has this ever happened to you?

Well, at the end of the day, you go in your bedroom and see the mayhem you created in the morning.

You’re tired and you just want to relax and binge on Netflix, the last thing you want to do is clean up your closet.

If you take just 15 minutes, you’ll be able to clean your closet and organize it for a successful dressing day tomorrow. I’ll show you how!

How to Clean Your Closet in 15 Minutes

Before You Start

  • Set a timer for 15 minutes

  • Put on your favorite music

In the First 5 Minutes - Clean Up

  • Remove all dirty clothes and put them in a hamper to be washed

  • Hang or fold all clean clothes that may be scattered on the floor of your closet and around your room

In the Next 5 Minutes - Purge

Quickly go through all of the items in your closet.

Remove any of the following items.

  • Anything torn, stained, ripped, or broken.

  • Items that need to be hemmed or tailored.

  • All items that don’t fit you or that you don’t feel good in.

  • Anything you haven’t worn in over a year.

Put these items in 3 piles: tailor/repair, donate, or trash.

In the Last 5 Minutes - Organize

Now with the remaining clothes in your closet, do a quick organization of them.

  • Organized everything by classification (not by outfit).

  • Once items are grouped by classification then organize them from light to dark.

This organization method will allow you to quickly and easily mix and match garments from different classifications to create outfits you may not have worn before.
