How to Dress for Thanksgiving Dinner
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s time to start planning your Thanksgiving outfit ideas!
For women in the know, the holidays are an opportunity to get dressed up, be festive, and show off your best self!
I’ve rounded up lots of beautiful dresses to wear for Thanksgiving or any other parties or dinners you have this holiday season.
In addition, here are a few quick tips for selecting what to wear this Thanksgiving.
Check the weather - If it’s going to be snowing and 20 degrees, don’t go with a strapless mini dress and sandals. Choose longer length midi or maxi dresses and pair them with boots and a cozy coat.
Is there a dress code? If you’re headed out to a party, restaurant, or private event, be sure to check if there is a dress code. Then you’ll know what to wear so you fit in to the event without feeling uncomfortable.
What color dresses should I wear for Thanksgiving? When it comes to colors, there is no hard and fast rule for Thanksgiving. That said, you’ll most often see autumn shades like orange, green, and brown as well as rich jewel tones of red, green, royal, and black for this time of year.
Go multi-purpose - Stretch your dollar by investing in holiday dresses not just for Thanksgiving but for the entire holiday season. Well chosen dresses will take you from Thanksgiving, to Christmas, and New Year’s Eve (and all the parties in between).
Thanksgiving with family or friends - If you’re spending your Thanksgiving with in a home with family and friends, your dress can be a bit more casual than if you were attending a large gathering or gala event.
Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant - Dining out for Thanksgiving is the perfect time to go all out with your outfit! This kickoff to the holiday season is the perfect time to wear a bit of glitz, glamour, and bling to your ensemble.
Formal Thanksgiving dinner - Unless it’s noted as black-tie, a formal Thanksgiving dinner in the U.S. means wearing a cocktail or evening dress. It doesn’t usually mean a floor length gown. It is an awesome opportunity to have fun with your outfit and go all out and dress to the nines.
